About
I'm Sarah Loftus...A 28-year-old living in Sydney, Australia, originally from the UK.I've spent the past 15 years navigating mental illness and, more recently, Type 1 Diabetes - diagnosed at 26, on the other side of the world from my family.I hold a double MSc in Public Health and Health Leadership & Management, and a BSc in Social Psychology - so everything I share is grounded in both lived experience and science.I'm a Breakthrough T1D Ambassador, part of The Prick Collective, and I've written for Butterfly Foundation, Omnipod, Breakthrough T1D, and more.I don't do toxic positivity or cliché wellness content. I talk about what it's actually like - the hard bits, the growth, and everything in between.

FROM DAWN TO DUSK
In a world where every day brings new challenges, I wanted to do something that had never been done before...On 7 December 2025, I completed a 15-hour solo mental and physical challenge - designed entirely by me - to raise awareness and funds for Breakthrough T1D, Australia's leading T1D research charity.Every hour, on the hour, for 15 hours, I completed:
- 1,405 metres on an erg
- 47.5 reps of an exerciseThe numbers weren't random. In 2025, 1,405 people are newly diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes every single day. Tragically, 475 lives are lost to T1D every day too. Every metre, every rep, every hour was for them. This challenge was never just about physical endurance. Each hour I shared insights into three factors that affect blood sugar levels - many beyond our control - to educate people about what it truly means to live with T1D every single day.I wanted to show that this disease doesn't get to decide what you're capable of. And I wanted anyone living with T1D to know they are not alone.A$12,000 raised. 91 incredibly generous donors. One very long, very meaningful day. It was one of the hardest, most rewarding things I've ever done - and I'd do it all again.
